  7 Minutes to Midnight
(Arts & Performances)

7 Minutes to Midnight is the devised piece created by new BCC Drama instructor and professional playwright/director Dennis Schebetta with students from BCC and designer/BCC Drama instructor Brian Healy.

A devised piece is one created by the theatre artists -- in this case students -- who research, create, write, design, compose and finally act in their own work. This work is being performaed in theatres and colleges and universities all over the US. It is vital, exciting and engaging work.

In 1947 a group of scientists created the symbolic Doomsday Clock and set it to 7 minutes to midnight as a warning and analogy of the path of destruction that began with the birth of the atom bomb. This ensemble-based piece uses text, movement and music to examine the nature of time and death and how the clock is ticking for us all.

Also being presented Nov. 15, 20, 21, 22
